The Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada, PDAC, drew over 23,000 attendees to share ideas and network opportunities in the mineral exploration and mining industry. The Fairmont Royal York was fully booked and very close to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre where daily presentations where given by guest speakers.
The mission has always been to promote sustainable best practices and minimal impact on the environment. That was the business of the day. Most evenings there were private parties to finish off the day. Many at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel as the opening and closing awards parties.
Others at places like Steam Whistle, the huge Real Sports Bar and one of the most interesting at Ripley’s Aquarium. Representing over 6,500 members, this convention brings many dollars to our city and puts Toronto on the map as a destination for other large events like this. More at pdac.ca
