The first-ever Fired-Up Gala in support of SickKids Hospital was held February 24th at the Ritz-Carlton Toronto. Roxy Zapala was been planning events for others over the past two decades as owner and creative director of Art of Celebrations Event Planning and Design. This evening was personal. The family is so grateful to SickKids Hospital due to a milk warmer accident that sent her then 21-month son, Levi, to the specialized Burn and Plastics Unit to treat third degree burns to his face and body.
Sadly, there are many similar accidents so the gala was to help raise funds and awareness about burn prevention, also how blessed we are to have these doctors and such a world class hospital. Well Roxy sure knows how to party once the formalities are over with entertainment by Cirque-It-Work-It, then drummers Bongo & B, also Che La Soul and the amazing DJ Jay.
